Logout
Logout functionality allows users to securely end their sessions. This feature is used by all users to ensure their sessions are properly closed, preventing unauthorized access and potential issues with multiple active sessions. It is used whenever a user finishes their work or needs to switch workstations.
Where you can find this feature: In the upper-right corner of the application interface.
How Logout Works
Functionality
Logout provides two main options: Sign Out and End Session.
Sign Out: Closes all active sessions on all workstations. This is useful when a user is signed into multiple sessions or workstations and wants to close them all at once.
End Session: Ends the current session only, without affecting other active sessions. This is helpful when a user is signed into multiple sessions or workstations and only wants to end one of them.
To sign out or end your session:
In the upper-right corner of the page, click the SignOut or End Session link.
Important: Do not click the X in the upper-right corner of the browser window, as this will not sign you out or end your session. Doing so may create multiple active sessions, which can cause issues within the application.
Logged Out Without Record in Application Access Audit
If users are sent back to the login page as if they were timed out for inactivity, but the Application Access Audit report does not show any records of logouts, it may be due to the Source IP persistence setting in the load balancer. The server admin should adjust this setting, typically to the length of an average shift.
Logged-in User Who Needs to be Logged Out
There are two scenarios where a logged-in user may need to be logged out:
User Logged in but Has Left for the Day: Notify the internal Teletracking admin, department supervisor, or help desk to manually log out the user.
User Stuck in Logged-In Status: Contact Teletracking technical support engineers to investigate and resolve the issue.
Prevent Users from Automatically Logging Out
To prevent users from being automatically logged out due to inactivity:
Navigate to Admin Tool > Master Configuration > Environment Properties.
Set the 'No inactivity timeout and No auto logout for users with this role' setting to the appropriate role.
Note: Only one role can be associated with this setting. This setting is typically reserved for whiteboards, and the role would usually be "Whiteboard" or something similar.
Workflows
Signing Out or Ending Your Session
In the upper-right corner of the page, click the SignOut or End Session link.
Sign Out: Closes all sessions on all workstations.
End Session: Ends only the current session and workstation.
Handling Logged-In Users
User Logged in but Has Left for the Day: Notify the internal Teletracking admin, department supervisor, or help desk.
User Stuck in Logged-In Status: Contact Teletracking technical support engineers.
Preventing Automatic Logout
Navigate to Admin Tool > Master Configuration > Environment Properties.
Set the 'No inactivity timeout and No auto logout for users with this role' setting to the appropriate role.
Login Screen Refreshes Without Error for Active Directory Logins
A client may call in a state that when they attempt to login to XT that the login screen simply refreshes and they are presented with the same login page again.
Check the connection to the SQL databases and look in Event Viewer for database connection issues. This is the #1 cause of the login screen "just refreshing" after putting in your credentials.
if everything checks out, continue:
Ask the client if they are using MSAD or Standard Logins.
Attempt to log in with Teleadminuser (which is a Standard account that authenticates through the SQL database)
Ask the client if IVR logins are still successful.
If you are able to log in with TeleAdminUser and IVR logins work but the client cannot log in with their MSAD authenticated account, ask if they have a non-MSAD account to test with. If that login is successful you most likely have an Active Directory Authenticiation problem or a problem with the Domain Controller.
If this problem affects only one account, have the client troubleshoot that MSAD account. If this affects all MSAD authenticated users, navigate in the client's XT installation to Master Config -> Authentication Store and look at the MSAD authentication path:
If the client has an IP address configured in the Path field it is possible that this specific Domain Controller is problematic. Ask the client if there is a different IP or preferably a DNS hostname/entry that can be configured here instead. It is also important to ensure that the domain is configured correctly.
NOTE: If the client has a test server on the same domain, you can test these settings changes there prior to implementing them on production.
You can also verify a problem with the Domain Controller by looking at the logdetail table in the database. If you see errors stating "the server is not operating" this means that MSAD authentication attempts are not able to reach the target domain controller.
The client can avoid future problems with MSAD authentication failures due to Domain Controller problems by using a DNS Honstname/Entry from the Master Domain Controller in lieu of using a specific ip for only one Domain Controller.
Signing Out a User
Signing out a user ensures that their session is properly closed, preventing unauthorized access and potential issues with multiple active sessions. This feature is used by administrators when a user forgets to sign out before leaving.
Where you can find this feature: Admin Tool > User Management > Users or Admin > Settings > Capacity Management > User Management > Users.
How Signing Out a User Works
Functionality
You may be asked to sign out a user who is currently signed in to the Capacity IQ® solution on the workstation or through the IVR. However, you cannot sign out transporters or transport supervisors while they are in the following statuses:
Dispatched
Delayed/Dispatched
In Progress
Delayed/In Progress
Assist
Similarly, you cannot sign out bed cleaners or EVS supervisors while they are in the In Progress status.
Permissions Required
To access the Admin Tool menu or Admin > Settings > Capacity Management, you must have the Admin Tool Menu permission. To access administrative groups, you must have the Global Admin Permissions-Administrative Controls- User, Role, and Group Management permission. To change user information, you must have Edit rights. If you have View rights, you can see, but not change, user information. Your Membership Type must be All with Administrative Rights enabled, or Fixed with campus-, cluster-, or unit-level membership with Administrative Membership rights enabled. You can only see, add, or edit user information for users within your membership.
