  • Under normal circumstances, a user will be logged out of the Capacity IQ® application if there's no activity for a period of time greater than the Session Timeout value.

  • There may be instances where a user is logged out before then.

    • For example, the session timeout may be set to 60 minutes, but the Application Access Audit report may show:

      • This problem can occur if the user has a login type of MSAD and they are using tabbed browsing in Internet Explorer - If there is another window that is being used with second application that uses Active Directory (Outlook Webmail for example), logging out of it can cause the Capacity IQ® session to end as well. This will be recorded in the Application Access Audit as a session timeout.

  • There isn't a defect or enhancement associated with this, as this is a problem with MSAD.

  • A workaround is to open Capacity IQ® and the other application in separate browser or incognito windows.
