Care Progression Groups
Care Progression Groups are used to track the progress of a patient's ancillary care, such as Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, or Social Work. These groups ensure that all necessary care types within a category are completed before the patient's ancillary care is considered complete. This feature is used by unit staff to monitor and update the status of each care type within a care progression group.
Where you can find this feature: Patient Tracking Portal application, list views.
How Care Progression Groups Work
Functionality
Care Progression Groups are configured in the Admin Tool or Admin > Settings > Capacity Management component. They consist of categories of ancillary care, called care progression groups, and the items within these categories, called care types.
Configuration:
Create and edit care progression groups.
Select an icon to represent the care progression group in list views.
Enter the ADT ID number that identifies the care progression group in the ADT system.
Set up statuses for care types (e.g., Ordered, In Progress) and enforce status order if necessary.
Add care types and indicate if they must be completed in a certain order.
Tracking:
A care progression group can be added to a list view as a column.
Unit staff can use the column to access a dialog box to update the status of each care type (Ordered, In Progress, Delayed, Completed).
The progress of a patient's ancillary care is visible to other unit staff members.
A care progression group is considered complete when all ordered care types are finished.
Specific examples of care types include neurological rehabilitation, orthopedic rehabilitation, and respiratory rehabilitation within the Physiotherapy category.
Permissions:
No special permissions are needed to view or update care type information.
If you can access the list view and see the patient, you can edit and track care progression group information.
