Zone - A Logical Hierarchy that contains multiple physical locations.
About
A zone is part of the hierarchy of a campus.
The hierarchy can be viewed like this:
Logical Hierarchy: Campus>Section>Zone or Physical Hierarchy:
Campus>Building>Floor>Ward>Zone.
Each zone must belong to only one floor and one ward on a campus.
Floors and wards can each have multiple zones.
Use
Zones are used to assign transporters or bed cleaners to specific areas in which they will perform their work.
Tips
Transporters, bed cleaners, and supervisors will always be assigned to the same zones and do not have to enter zone information when they sign in.
Transporters with fixed assignments may be asked to work in other zones during a shift, if needed.
Some transporters will have fixed and exclusive zone assignments. These transporters will always be assigned to the same zones and can never be asked during a shift to work in another zone, even if another zone is very busy and the transporters have no work to do in their assigned zones.
Some transporters and bed cleaners will have variable zone assignments.
Each time they log in for the day, they will select a specific zone (based on instructions from their supervisors).
They might log in to different zones every day.
To be allowed to change zones during a single shift, they must sign out for the day, and then log in for the day.
Some will have an "All" zone assignment which means they do not have to select a zone when they log in and can be assigned to work anywhere in the campus during a shift.
