Info

The system allows users to send free-form text notifications to other Operations IQ® Platform users, with the admin needing to configure endpoint configurations and user preferences. Currently, there are two notification preferences: SMTP and WCTP.

  • The admin is responsible for adding multiple WCTP endpoints and adding external identifiers for users. They set user preferences for email, WCTP, or both. Users can select platform users with a notification preference for sending messages. Messages can only be sent on case edit and are free-form texts with a maximum length of 1500 characters.

Configuring Endpoints

Follow the steps outlined in Configure WCTP Endpoints to setup the endpoints.

  • The WCTP endpoint name and URL must be configured by a system administrator; TeleTracking cannot configure these endpoints.

  • There is no limit to the number of endpoints configured.

User Notification Configuration

An admin will need to set up user notification configurations for each user who should receive search result notifications. To do this, the admin can navigate to each user's page and configure their notification settings. In order for the admin to configure a user for a WCTP endpoint, they must first set up the WCTP endpoint from the Platform Settings page. On the user page, there are two sections under the "Message Notifications" section.

Configuring Users

Follow the steps outlined in Configure User to Receive Message Notifications to configure users to receive Message Notifications.

  • There is no limit to the number of endpoints associated with a user.

Configuring user WCTP endpoint -

  • To configure a user's WCTP endpoint, the admin will need to know the user's external identifier for a particular WCTP endpoint.

Notification Methods -

  • A user can receive notifications via email, WCTP, or both.

  • The admin can select either or both notification methods for any user.

  • The WCTP notification method can only be selected once a user is set up on a particular Communication Provider. If a user has no Communication Provider configured, the WCTP notification method will be disabled.

  • If the admin selects email as the notification method, the email will be sent to the address configured in the User Info section when the user is selected as the recipient.

    • Note - If a user is selected for both Email and WCTP, that user will receive messages/notifications on both, as long as they are valid.

Sending Notifications

  • Transfer IQ® users can send notifications to other Transfer IQ® users with a notification method set up on case edit by clicking on the notification button on the case edit page.

  • This will open a dialogue where the user can enter a message with a maximum length of 1500 characters and select users by searching on Add Recipient(s).

  • After hitting Send, a Case Log Entry for the message will be created containing the following information:

    • Date/Time the message was sent

    • Last Name, First Name of the message sender

    • The message text (up to 1,500 characters)

    • Last Name(s), First Name(s) of the message recipient(s)

Note: The list of recipients can be expanded or collapsed as needed by clicking the arrows in the bottom-right corner of the case log entry.

Note: When a user has multiple identifiers for the same Communication Provider, each of those will be notified separately when a message is sent to that Communication Provider. There is no way to only send to one or the other.
