Direct Admit

Direct Admits are used for patients who are admitted directly to a unit from places like Physicians Offices and Long-Term Care Facilities, bypassing the typical Intake Areas such as the ED or Procedural Area. This feature ensures that the Receiving Unit and Admitting are aware of the incoming patient. If your site uses Transfer IQ®, direct admits are automatically entered through the Transfer IQ® application.

Where you can find this feature: Patient Placement module.

How Direct Admits Work

Functionality

Direct Admits differ from other bed requests as Patient Placement needs to provide a Bed Assignment at the time of request entry. Patient Placement is also responsible for activating the RTM Timer for Direct Admits.
