Model of Travel

A mode of travel must be selected when a request for a patient transport job is created. This feature is used by administrators to manage and configure the available modes of travel for patient transport requests.

Where you can find this feature: Admin Tool or Admin > Settings > Capacity Management.

How Model of Travel Works

Functionality

Modes of travel must be entered in the Admin Tool or Admin > Settings > Capacity Management component to be selectable when creating transport requests. The Capacity IQ® solution may provide some default modes of travel, which appear grayed out and cannot be edited or deleted.

Permissions Required

  • Admin Tool Menu permission: Required to access the Admin Tool menu or Admin > Settings > Capacity Management.

  • Global Admin Tools Permissions-Administrative Controls-Mode of Travel permission: Required to add, edit, or delete modes of travel.

  • Edit rights: Required to make changes.

  • Membership Type "All" with administrative rights enabled or Membership Type "Fixed" with campus-level membership and administrative rights enabled for the campus.

Adding a Mode of Travel

  1. Display the Dictionary Management page:

    • Go to Admin Tool > Dictionary Management.

    • Go to Admin > Settings > Capacity Management > Miscellaneous > Dictionary Management.

  2. In the Dictionary Name column, click the Mode of Travel link.

  3. Click the Add button to add a row.

  4. In the Campus list, select the campus where the transport jobs requiring this mode of travel will occur.

  5. In the Name column, type a name (e.g., Wheel Chair). The name must be no longer than 50 characters.

  6. In the IVR Code column, type a numeric code greater than 0 for the Interactive Voice Response (IVR) system. The IVR ID must meet the minimum and maximum length requirements set in the Enterprise Wide Settings page (maximum 10 characters).

  7. Click Save.

  2. Make the appropriate changes in each column.

  3. Click Save.

  5. When a confirmation message appears, click OK.

Note: The mode of travel to be deleted must not be associated with a transport request in the last 7 days. Deleted modes of travel will still be visible in historical reports.

Default Mode of Travel

The default mode of travel is determined by the most recently selected option. For example, if "wheelchair" is selected for the most recent transport job, it will be the default selection for the next transport job until a new mode of travel is chosen.

To update the default mode of travel: Admin > Settings > Capacity Management > Enterprise Information > Pick your campus > Global Settings > Transporttracking.
