Steps to resolve issues with a department pager.

Checklist

Part 1 -

If you have a pager and it’s not working correctly, do the following:

  1. Check the pager to make sure you have the correct one.

  2. Make sure the pager is powered on.

  3. Make sure the pager is fixed to the department pager’s user profile.

  4. Make sure there is a default console attached to the department pager's user profile.

Part 2 -

If you were able to confirm Part 1 and your pager is still not working properly, you will want to do the following:

  1. Make sure the pager is active in TeleTracking by going to Admin Tool > Device Management.

    1. Click Devices Tab and search for your pager in question.

  2. Check with your Telecom to make sure the pager is activated with the pager's provider.

  3. Swap the pager that isn’t working with a spare or one that is working.

SETTING UP SPECIFIC PAGER NOTIFICATIONS FOR A DEPT PAGER

Setting up specific pager notifications for a departmental pager such as the ICU pager involves customizing the console view to filter and display only the relevant information. Here's a step-by-step guide:

  1. Set Default Console View:

    • Log in to the system using the credentials associated with the pager.

    • Navigate to the console view settings.

    • Choose a console view that displays information related to the specific unit or department you're interested in.

  2. Confirm Notification Settings:

    • Once you've selected the appropriate console view, review the notification settings associated with it.

    • Ensure that the notifications are configured to provide alerts for the specific criteria you're interested in, such as patient admissions, transfers, or critical events within the Unit.

  3. Adjust Notification Settings (If Necessary):

    • If the default notification settings don't meet your specific requirements, make any necessary adjustments.

    • This may involve configuring filters, thresholds, or triggers to ensure that only relevant notifications are received.

  4. Save as Personal Console View:

    • After confirming or adjusting the notification settings, go to the "Load Save Console" option.

    • Save the customized console view as a personal view with a distinct name, such as "Unit Name Pager."

    • Set this personalized console view as your default view to ensure that you receive notifications according to your specifications.

By following these steps, you can tailor the pager notifications to provide alerts that are specific to the needs of your unit or any other department, improving efficiency and responsiveness to critical events.
