Compliance Report

The Compliance Report shows the source of the cleaning request as well as compliance. Compliance is defined as a bed that entered a dirty status (via the interface, a transport request, a manual user request, or Location IQ® if applicable) and progressed through In Progress to Clean. Found beds are not considered compliant cleans. The Compliance Report compares the number of bed cleaning jobs that were completed with the number that were formally requested through BedTracking. If significantly more bed cleaning jobs were completed than requested in a unit, that unit would have a low compliance rate.

Best Practice Metrics Captured In Compliance Report

There are no Best Practice Metrics within the Compliance Report that EVS Supervisors are responsible for attaining, however, there is one that is specific to transport-driven discharges. For facilities that are using Capacity IQ® Transport, it is Best Practice that discharges and transfers are completed by transporters in order to facilitate dirty bed notification as the patient is physically being escorted to a discharge location or a new inpatient bed. Therefore, we want to see a high percentage of beds being dirtied via Capacity IQ® Transport (or Location IQ® if applicable) to ensure bed cleaners are notified in real-time and that Patient Placement always has accurate visibility of bed capacity.

There is not an official best practice goal metric, but this should still be monitored

Database - Where Your Facility's Data Is Stored

  • Production - Data that is stored in the production database (this is your current data).

    • Use when live up-to-the-minute data is needed.

    • Contains the data from the current time and for the past number of days as defined in Archive Management. This is typically 7 days but may range between 1 and 30 days. If you do not know the number of days, your TeleTracking System Administrator should be able to assist.

  • Archive - Data that is stored in the archive database (this is your older data).

    • Does not capture data for the current day.

    • Users can access reports as far back as the go-live date.

Campus

  • Campus Drop-Down

    • Defaults to your campus. The only exception is if you have access to multiple campuses. If you have membership in multiple campuses (for example, ABC Children's Hospital and ABC Women's Hospital), then in the Campus list, select the campus for which you wish to generate a report.

Date & Time

  • Date Range

    • Click on the Calendar Icon to select the needed dates.

Location

  • Defaults to all locations. Click on the magnifying glass to choose individual locations.

Cost Center

  • Defaults to all Cost Centers. To select individual or multiple Cost Centers, press and hold the Ctrl keyboard button, and then click the names.

Include

  • Allows you to select if you want to include or exclude adjusted cleans. If included, the minimum and maximum times can be set.

    • Note: This report is meant to only be a reference to the amount of Adjusted Cleans occurring. True Adjusted Clean Metrics should be analyzed within the Average Response and Turn Time Report.

Analyzing The Compliance Report

image-20240419-143933.png

Although there are no Best Practice Metrics included in the Compliance Report, there are still data points that should be monitored by EVS Supervisors.

  • Compliant Cleans - A compliant clean is defined as a bed that was dirtied via Transport Request, Location IQ®, Interface, or Manually in the application AND progressed through the application to In Progress and eventually a Clean status.

    • Note: Found Beds are not considered compliant.

  • Compliance Percent - Number of bed cleaning requests divided by the number of compliant cleans.

  • Adjusted Cleans - Number of cleans that employees get credit for that took more time than the maximum parameters or less time than the minimum parameters.

    • Note: If you choose to exclude adjusted cleans while generating the report, you will see a ‘0’ displayed.

  • Source - Shows the amount and percentage of bed dirtied for Discharges and Transfers and the source of how the bed became dirtied. It is recommended that if your hospital utilizes the transport department for discharges and transfers, the TT Source for Discharges should be greater than 70%. The only exception to this would be if your hospital was using Location IQ® and in that case, we would expect a high Location IQ® Source for Discharges.
