Pages are being sent but the paging server is not sending them out: “A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because the connected host has failed to respond [IP address of the paging server]”
This generally means that Teletracking is sending the pages out to the paging vendor but the paging vendor’s server is not responding and sending the pages to the device.
Solution
There are several possible items that may need to be checked and we may not be able to resolve this without assistance from their internal IT support or the paging vendor.
The paging vendor may be experiencing an outage.
This can be verified by the client's telecom department who can reach out to their paging vendor.
A change has been made to a paging server, such as the IP address or a configuration change.
This change will need to be undone or we will need to reconfigure CMS paging settings
The client will need to get the new IP address from the paging vendor or have them go back to the original server.
The paging server is down.
Teletracking support can provide any possible support to the client's internal IT support while they are bringing the server back online.
