Lead Time Overview:

  • Definition: Lead time is the period before a scheduled transport job enters the Pending queue for dispatch, ensuring timely arrival at the appointment.

  • Purpose: It ensures that patients or items arrive at their appointments on time.

Detailed Example:

  • Scenario: A patient has a 10 AM X-Ray appointment.

  • Lead Time Configuration: Set to 30 minutes.

  • Process:

    • At 9:30 AM, the job status changes to Pending.

    • The job enters the queue, allowing 30 minutes for dispatch and transport.

    • The transporter picks up the patient and ensures arrival by 10 AM.

Configuration:

  • Admin Tool: Lead time is configured in the Admin Tool or via Admin > Settings > Capacity Management.

Automation:

  • The system automatically updates the job status to Pending, so manual intervention by the requester is not needed.
