Diet
The Diet column displays the patient's required diet (e.g., Nothing by Mouth). Users with the Edit Patient Diet permission can click the diet name or cell to select another diet. This feature is used by healthcare staff to manage and update patient diet information, ensuring accurate dietary instructions are followed. It is used whenever a patient's diet needs to be reviewed or changed.

How Diet Works
Functionality
The Diet column allows users to select and display a patient's diet.
Diet names and colors are configured under Admin > Settings > Capacity Management > Dictionary Management.
Diet Names and Colors can be added, edited, or deleted from the Diet Dictionary.
You cannot delete diet names that are already associated with patients.
The diet name appears in alphabetical order.
Hospital staff can associate a diet (for example, Nothing by Mouth or Liquids Only) with a patient record.
Administrators can customize diet names and their associated background colors in Admin > Settings > Capacity Management > Dictionary Management.

Edit rights are required to make changes; View rights allow viewing only.

Workflows
Editing a Patient's Diet
In the list view with the Diet column, click the diet cell for the patient.
Select the new diet from the menu.
Click Save.
Configuring Diet Names and Colors
Access the Dictionary Management page via Admin > Settings > Capacity Management.
Click the Diet link in the Dictionary Name column.
Click the magnifying glass icon under List View Header Icon, select an icon, and click OK.
If your hospital uses floor plans, enter text or select an image to represent the diet on the floor plan.
Add, or edit diet names and associate colors as needed.
Save changes.
Delete Diet Names
Access the Dictionary Management page via Admin > Settings > Capacity Management.
Click the Diet link in the Dictionary Name column.
Select the checkboxes for the diet names to delete and click Delete Selected Records.
Confirm the deletion.
