Master Patient Index (MPI)
The Master Patient Index (MPI) feature in the TransferCenterIQ application allows patient placement specialists to search for matching patients across multiple instances of the Capacity IQ® solution. This feature is essential for efficiently locating existing patients and ensuring accurate patient placement.

How the Master Patient Index Works
Functionality
The MPI search feature includes the following updates to the Existing Patients dialog box:
Gender/Age Column: Gender and Age are combined into one column.
Masked Social Security Number: The patient's social security number is masked except for the last four digits.
Address Columns: The patient's address is displayed in three separate columns: Address (street only), City, and State. Zipcode no longer appears in the search results.
Capacity IQ® Instance Column: A new column indicating the Capacity IQ® instance is added.
These enhancements improve the ease of locating existing patients within the Capacity IQ® solution.
Enabling the Master Patient Index
The "Use Master Patient Index" feature is disabled by default.
This feature can be enabled by TeleTracking.
