Membership allows users to see only patient, bed, unit, and job data associated with patients and employees who come to or leave specific units and departments.
For example, membership affects the information that users can see on the application consoles.
Membership helps to prevent unauthorized users from seeing patient and employee data that is not relevant to their work and helps to protect patient and employee privacy.
There are three types of membership:
Users with a Fixed membership are always assigned to specific units and clusters.
They can see only data related to those units or clusters and do not have to select these units and clusters when signing in for the day.
Users with a Variable membership must select units or clusters when they sign in for the day.
For that day, they can view only patient, bed, unit, or job data associated with patients and employees who come to or leave those specific units or clusters.
Users with the All membership type can always see all patient, bed, unit, and job data for the entire campus.
Users may also be assigned administrative rights to their memberships, which in combination with the appropriate permissions, allows users to change data.
If users who are already signed in for the day need access to data from other units or clusters, and they do not have the Allow User to Set Membership on Login without RAC permission, then they must request a Re-Assignment Authorization Code (RAC code).
They must then use the RAC code to sign in again and select units and clusters for their membership so that they have access to data from those units and clusters.
