Logging In
Tap the EVS App icon on the smartphone device.
At the login screen enter your username and password. This should have been provided to you by your management team.
Tap Sign In.
Assignment
Tap All Sections & Zones if you are working in all areas of the hospital and are to be notified of dirty beds.
Tap Specific Sections and Zones if your primary assignment is specific areas of the hospital and are to be notified of dirty beds.
Tap No Sections and Zones if your primary assignment(s) are specific areas of the hospital and you WILL NOT be notified immediately of dirty beds- e.g. non-patient areas.
Select Let’s Get Started to Log in.
Home Screen Overview
A. Take a Break – Place yourself on a break (also includes Lunch).
B. Bed Size – with appropriate permissions, you can adjust the bed size for the location
C. New Job – use for Found Bed or Spill Job
D. Enter Bed ID – use for dirty bed, not on your worklist
E. Worklist - bed or spill cleaning requests for you
F. Messages – access Messages screen
G. Jobs – returns you to this Home screen and displays the worklist.
H. Settings – access the Color Theme and Sign Out screen.
Cleaning requests
Job Notifications
You will receive a JOB FOR YOU notification, which will display at the top of the screen when a bed clean is requested within your assigned area.
Follow the instructions to Start Cleaning a Bed or Spill.
Start Cleaning a Bed or Spill
In the application, select a dirty bed or spill from your worklist.
(Spill requests can be used for a variety of purposes beyond spills. For example, they can be used to identify the need for more supplies, or to clean an area other than a patient room.)

Enter the ID of a dirty bed or spill not on the worklist and press Done
Select Go In Progress to enter In Progress status while cleaning the bed or spill.
Select Yes to confirm Go In Progress.
Completing Job Requests
Completing a Job
Select Complete Job to mark the job complete and the location clean.
Select Yes to confirm the Completed Job.
Delaying Job Requests
Delay a Bed Clean
Note: This action can only be used Prior to going In Progress.
Select a Dirty Bed from your worklist.
Select Delay Job.
Choose Select a Reason.
From the box that appears, select the reason for the delay.
Select Yes, Delay Job.
If you choose Yes, Delay Job, the job will be delayed and you will be returned to your worklist.
or
Select No, Return to Job to Not Delay the job, and return to the prior screen.
Completing Delayed Job requests
Completing a Delayed Bed Clean
Select the Delayed Bed from your worklist.
Select Go In Progress.
Complete the job as any other job.
Suspend a Bed Clean
NOTE: This action can only be used once a job has been put In Progress and before it has been Completed.
Perform Steps 1 AND 2 of Start Cleaning a Bed to put a bed In Progress.
Select More Options when in the In Progress status.
Select Suspend.
Choose Select a Reason.
Select a Reason for Suspension.
Select Yes, Suspend Job. The job is Suspended and you are returned to your worklist.
or
Select No, Return to Job to NOT suspend.
Completing a Suspended Bed Clean
Select the Suspended Bed from your worklist.
Select Go In Progress.
Complete the job as any other job.
Other Functions
You may periodically receive messages from your supervisor, which will be displayed at the top of the screen.
Select Messages in the lower left corner of the screen to view.
Tap a message to view the entire text.
Tap “Actions” to either Mark all as read, Dismiss all or to view the message list tap Cancel.
Tap “Dismiss” to delete the message.
Tap “Reply All” or “Reply” to reply to a message.
Tap “Send” to send your reply or “Cancel” to return to the previous screen.
Taking A Scheduled Break/Lunch
Tap Break from the upper left corner of the home screen.
From the dropdown menu, tap on the arrow to select the Type of Break.
Tap Start Break to complete.
NOTE: You will not receive any job notifications while in Break/Lunch status, however, you can still receive messages from your supervisor.
Returning From A Scheduled Break/Lunch
Tap Break from the home screen.
Select Return to Work.
You will be prompted to Select OK to proceed.
Settings
Message Groups
Message Groups allows mobile users to view and set their temporary notification groups or view their permanent notification groups. To view the user Message Groups:
In the My Settings screen, tap Message Groups
Temporary Groups - Message groups users can add themselves to based on the roles that the administrator assigned to the group.
Tap Temporary Groups to view a list of available notification groups already created. To join a notification group, tap the group name, next tap Submit. (Consult with your manager before joining any group to avoid miscommunication).
Permanent Groups - Message group users can see all of the notification groups that they belong to. To view the permanent groups the user is a member of, tap Permanent Groups. You will see all groups the user is a member of.
Notification Sounds
Depending on the version you are using, the user will have the ability to customize their notification sounds when receiving jobs and notifications. To view\change your notification sounds within the mobile application, tap Settings. Next tap Notification Sound.
NOTE: This feature is available with version 2024.02 or later.
In the Notification Sound screen, you will be able to preview and select a notification sound for use with the mobile application.
To preview a sound, tap the play icon located to the far right of a sound. Make sure your mobile device is not set to silent or the device volume is too low to properly preview the notification sound.
To set a notification sound for the mobile application, tap the radio button(circle) to the left of the desired notification sound and tap Submit.
Changing Color Theme
Select Settings from the bottom right corner of the Home Screen.
Select a Dark Theme for a dark background.
Select a Light Theme for a light background.
