Administrators and users interact with password settings to manage access to Capacity IQ® and the Interactive Voice Response (IVR) system. This feature exists to ensure secure access and compliance with organizational policies. It is used when setting up new users, updating security policies, or when users need to change their passwords or PINs.
Where you can find this feature: Admin Tool menu, Admin > Settings > Capacity Management.
How passwords are handled
Functionality
Password settings allow administrators to configure various aspects of password management:
User Password Changes: Enable or disable users' ability to change their own passwords and PINs.
Password Expiration: Set passwords to expire after a specified number of days.
Password Change Restrictions: Define the minimum number of days before a user can change a new password.
Password History: Retain a history of previous passwords to prevent reuse.
Lockout Settings: Configure lockout policies after a certain number of failed login attempts.
Permissions Required
To configure password settings, the following permissions are required:
Admin Tool Menu permission
Enterprise Wide Settings permission
Edit rights for changing information
Membership Type "All" with administrative rights or Membership Type "Fixed" with campus-level administrative rights

To Configure Password Settings
On the Admin Tool menu, click Enterprise Management > Enterprise Wide Settings.
Go to Admin Tool > Enterprise Management > Enterprise Wide Settings or Admin > Settings > Capacity Management > Enterprise Management > Enterprise-Wide Settings.
Click the Enterprise Wide Settings tab.
In the Password Settings section, configure the following:
Users can change PIN/password: Toggle between Enabled and Disabled.
Password expiration: Set the maximum number of days for password expiration.
Minimum: Set the minimum number of days before a password can be changed.
Maximum: Set the maximum number of days before a password expires.
Retain password history: Enable or disable password history retention.
# of unusable previous passwords: Specify the number of previous passwords that cannot be reused.
Lockout user: Enable or disable user lockout after failed login attempts.
Number of login attempts: Set the number of failed login attempts before lockout.
Lockout period (Min): Set the duration of the lockout period in minutes.
To Configure Enterprise Password Settings
Go to Admin Tool > Enterprise Management > Enterprise Wide Settings or Admin > Settings > Capacity Management > Enterprise Management > Enterprise-Wide Settings.
Click the Enterprise Wide Settings tab.
In the Enterprise Password Settings section, configure the following:
Password same as user ID: Toggle between Enabled and Disabled.
To Configure Password Filtering Settings
Go to Admin Tool > Enterprise Management > Enterprise Wide Settings or Admin > Settings > Capacity Management > Enterprise Management > Enterprise-Wide Settings.
Click the Enterprise Wide Settings tab.
In the Password Filtering Settings section, configure the following:
Password filtering: Toggle between Enabled and Disabled.
Minimum password length: Set the minimum number of characters for passwords.
Maximum password length: Set the maximum number of characters for passwords.
Require numeric characters: Specify the number of numeric characters required.
Require upper-case alpha chars: Specify the number of upper-case alphabetic characters required.
Require lower-case alpha chars: Specify the number of lower-case alphabetic characters required.
Require non alpha numeric chars: Specify the number of non-alphanumeric characters required.
Resetting Passwords
Users needing password resets should contact their Supervisor, Internal Help Desk, or Internal administrator.
TeleTracking Client support does not reset passwords for clients.
Changing Password or PIN
Select your username link in the upper-right of the page, and then select My Information.
In the Old Password or Old PIN box, type your previous password or PIN.
In the New Password or New PIN box, type your new password or PIN.
In the Confirm New Password or Confirm New PIN box, re-type your new password or PIN.
Click Save.
Forgot Password
Select the Forgot your password link that appears when signing in.
