ADT Overwrite

ADT Overwrite settings determine whether patient data in the Capacity IQ® PreAdmit application will be overwritten if an ADT transaction with different data is sent. This feature is used by administrators to ensure data consistency and accuracy. It is particularly useful when managing patient records and ensuring that the most up-to-date information is reflected in the system.

Where you can find this feature: PreAdmitTracking® Global Settings page.

How ADT Overwrite Works

Functionality

You can configure settings to determine whether patient data in the Capacity IQ® PreAdmit application will be overwritten by an ADT transaction. The first time a patient record is sent from the ADT system, the data will overwrite existing data, even if the "Never" ADT overwrite setting is selected. For each type of data, you can select whether an ADT transaction will overwrite existing patient information:

  • Always:

    • Valid data: ADT data replaces Capacity IQ® PreAdmit application data.

    • Empty data (double quotation marks): Capacity IQ® PreAdmit application data is cleared.

    • Null or invalid data: No change.

  • Never:

    • Valid, null, or invalid, or empty data: No change.

  • Until User Edits:

    • Valid data, patient has an open placement, and user HAS edited the data: ADT data will NOT replace Capacity IQ® PreAdmit application data.

    • Valid data, patient has an open placement, and user has NOT edited the data: ADT data WILL replace Capacity IQ® PreAdmit application data.

    • Valid data and patient does not have a placement: ADT data WILL replace Capacity IQ® PreAdmit application data.

Types of data that can be configured:

  • Hospital Service

  • Accommodation

  • Bed Size

  • Isolation

  • Patient Type

  • Admit Source

  • Admit Type

  • Miscellaneous

  • Custom Attributes

  • Unit Requested
